It's not often that a new product comes on the market that is outstanding enough to warrant a letter to the manufacturer. Your product, Klacon HS deserves this kind of recognition. I started using Klacon HS over a year ago. As a stable owner I was fighting the same problems we all do with a strong ammonia smell in the barn, wet spots in the stalls and labor and time intense clean up. I also lost alot of bedding each time I picked the stall out. When the opportunity arose to try a new bedding product I was very excited to give it a try and put it to the test. I bedded each 10 x 12 stall with 12 bags of Klacon. The first day that I picked out the stall I was amazed that it only took 10 minutes per stall. I got only the piles, not the bedding as this sifts through the fork and stays in the stall. I also had no wet spots.

The second thing I noticed was that there was no more ammonia smell in my barn! I also believe that this bedding has a cushioning effect on my horses legs which is an added bonus. When the horse lays on it, it brushes off easily if it sticks at all. These reasons alone sold me on this product but when I got 9 weeks usage out of the first 12 bags without ever adding to it I realized a real savings in the cost of the product.

I want to thank you for creating a product that saves labor , expense, and is great for my horses giving me more time to enjoy them.

Sincerely,

Lise Murchison

Dear Bob,

I want to express my gratitude for giving my husband the opportunity to use Klacon HS in our horse barn. Donnie, my husband, is very passionate about his horses and in particular the cleanliness of the barn. Since 1998 we have not used any other stall bedding for our horses. Klacon HS is better than advertised. The stalls remain dry and clean smelling. Our horses don't have wet spots or manure spots from laying in wet and dirty bedding. I must tell you that cleaning the stalls is not one of my favorite chores. However, when HS is in the stall I absolutely do not mind at all. The urine smell is nearly non-existent. In fact if our mare Dixie didn't urinate in the same spot time after time you couldn't detect any urine smell or saturation.

Last year from October 25th through January 20th, a period of 112-days, we logged the use of HS and compared it to the use of wood shavings. We kept three horses on the HS. The horses were kept in the stall an average of 12 hours each night. The HS used in the Gelding's stall lasted 106 days, while the HS in the mares stalls lasted the 112 days. The stalls are 10-ft x 10-ft.

We were able to reduce the bedding cost from $20.00 per. week to $11.00 per. week using HS. These figures are based on paying $4.00 for a 4-cubic foot bag of wood shavings and $8.00 for a 50-lb bag of HS. In other words, our daily cost went from $2.86 per. day to $1.57 per. day. We did not calculate a labor cost. We did calculate the time it took to clean a stall. The use of HS reduced our cleaning time to an average of 7- minutes per day per stall. Using wood shavings we filled the manure-spreader in three days. With HS we filled the spreader once every 7-days. In addition, the spreading of HS is easier. The reason it's easier and faster, we were spreading manure rather than wood shaving with some manure in it!

I encourage all stables to try using Klacon HS. It cuts cost, reduces cleaning time, and keeps the horses cleaner and the barn fresher smelling.

Thank you again for producing a product that reduces the wear and tear on a cowboy's wife, a former city girl!

Sincerely,

Teresa Bain
